My expertise, through every phase

We start by listening to your wishes and daily way of living. For a new build we investigate the site, the spatial possibilities and the urban context. For a renovation, conversion or extension we also carefully analyse the existing situation. I examine the relevant regulations and the first budgetary constraints. This phase results in a first architectural concept, a feasibility assessment and an indicative reference construction cost. You then decide, with more knowledge, whether to continue with the full architectural commission.

The chosen concept is developed further into a coherent design. Plans, volumes, light, circulation, materials and the relationship with the surroundings are aligned. The design emerges through dialogue and is not conceived as a standard solution, but as a response to the site or existing home, your budget and the way you want to live.

After approval of the Design, I prepare the architectural documents for the building permit application. I submit the file digitally, follow up on the normal permit procedure and answer usual questions or requests for clarification from the authorities.

After the permit phase, the design is developed further technically. I prepare the required architectural execution plans, details and specifications and coordinate the file with the appointed engineers and consultants. Contractors can then be approached and received offers are reviewed and compared.

During construction I check at regular and necessary moments whether the works correspond to the plans, the permit and the agreed materials. I discuss technical questions with the parties involved, report observed points of attention and guide the client through the building process.

When the works are completed, I assist the client during the provisional delivery. Visible defects, unfinished works and necessary corrections are registered so that the project can be carefully concluded.
